Do you have a creative side? Do you write, draw, paint, create animations or movies just for FUN? Then, you might be interested in joining "Creative Corner,” an ONLINE club group on Google Classroom. This is a place for students of all grade levels to post, view, read, and comment on each other’s art, writing, movie-making and more. It's a thriving club with 30+ student members who share their creative work and comment on and encourage each other through the writing and artistic process! If interested, join the group on Google Classroom facilitated by Ms. Lukins (ask her for the group code). Please read the Google Classroom Expectations (in the "About" section of the group) before posting or commenting. Thank you! Check out some of the stellar work below...

A CREATIVE CORNER CHALLENGE FROM MISS LUKINS:
Write a short narrative, poem, or point of view writing (personify an object) OR create an alternative art piece (sketch, painting, pixel art, 3-D printing, animation, etc.) based off of one of my photos! Basically, you choose a photo. Then, either choose to WRITE or do ART inspired by the photo. If you choose to write, you may write a story or a poem inspired by the photo (maybe it's the story/poem's setting or the object is in the story/poem somewhere) OR write a point of view piece where you personify something that is not human in the image. Or, if you want to get artsy, instead choose an art medium--painting, sketching, pixel art, 3-D printing, digital art, animation--and recreate the photo using a different medium with your own twist or artistic style!

During distance learning, our D.A.T.A. students started an online school newspaper using Google Sites. Scroll down to check it out! As facilitator, Ms. Lukins held weekly Zoom meetings for our news team to discuss topics and ways to engage our student body in the newspaper itself. Google form surveys helped drive our newspaper, thus bringing our campus together!
Check out the most current D.A.T.A. Newspaper below!
Photography Club met on Thursdays in Ms. Lukins’s room A-4 at lunch and transitioned into a primarily online club (group in Edmodo) during the 2015-2016 school year. Photo competitions were held each month and students were able to vote on their favorite photos! This club has been postponed until further notice.
